Precipitated barium sulfate

Category:

Chemical compound

Barium sulfate used in the friction material industry is mostly BaSO4 with a content of about 95%. Barium sulfate is a chemically synthesized product, which is made from soluble barium salt and sulfuric acid through repeated decomposition and reaction. Even though it does not contain mineral impurities such as silicon dioxide, it is still often used in products with high friction and brake noise, such as disc brake shoes, which are synthesized by trains, and the brake shoes are conducive to reducing brake noise.
