Molybdenum disulfide
Category:
Sulfide
Detailed introduction
Function in friction material:
1. Reduce friction coefficient and wear at low temperature.
2. At high temperature, due to the oxidation and transformation into molybdenum trioxide and molybdenum trisulfide during the friction process, the layer structure is lost, which can not reduce the friction coefficient, but can inhibit the transfer of resin to the steel surface, effectively reduce the wear of the composite, improve its wear resistance, and extend its service life.
3. The oxidation products MoO3, MoS3 and MoS2 form copolymer particles. When the temperature rises, the copolymer particles expand, resulting in friction enhancement.
